After one and a half years in our first permanent home since our original shtiebl, we have lost our space once again. We grew so much in our previous space, having had the opportunity to offer programming and meals for even more holidays and celebrations. We have begun having services and meals every Saturday in addition to two communal Friday evening services and meals each month. Between Sushi Shabbat, Vegan Shabbat, Kiddushes and pop-ups we have welcomed hundreds of individuals into our home, a home shared with Rabbi Kyle Savitch and Liran Messinger.
Although moving can be hard, we now have the opportunity to take the next big leap for our community. We are seeking to secure a commercial space which would be separate from the home of Rabbi Kyle and Liran. This will allow our community to grow and continue flourishing into a true community space where anyone is welcome to come by during the week and on Shabbat. We will have a cafe serving coffee and pastries and with challah available for Shabbat and holidays.
In order to accomplish this dream, though, we need your support. It is only with your help that we can continue serving our community here in Harlem. I hope you will take this leap with us into the future of Kehillat Harlem.
